“I saw pupusas and food as a bridge—a way to bring people to the table… I thought, we could do this and generate money and make these scholarships real.”
In 2016, So Good Pupusas began selling pupusas from a food truck in Durham, NC, with a portion of profits funding scholarships for undocumented students through its nonprofit partner, Pupusas for Education (@pupusas4education). Today, the effort has grown into an expansive community development organization called People for Equity.
